🇬🇧Considering very strong wind squalls in the area we were supposed to go through ( Rabuons and Vens) we activated plan B . This section will get us to Pietraporzio through the passes of Laroussa ( 2471 m) and Rostagno (2536 m)

🇬🇧Difficult to leave such a heavenly place as San Bernolfo

🇬🇧The bottom of the climb to col de Laroussa uses a avalanche couloir both sheep and narrow . Luckily the snow is quite soft

🇬🇧On the way down from col de Laroussa The climb to Rostagno pass is visible on the other side of the valley

🇬🇧Lunch break, bad weather is coming in and we start to feel strong wind squalls . In the background the refuge of Migliorero can be seen looking like the ‘Adams house’

🇬🇧The Rostagno Pass is a real pain to go through with very little snow and completely frozen . To make things worse wind squalls are becoming very strong

🇬🇧Going down from the other side is not much better …

🇬🇧Claire ‘not very satisfied ‘ by this descent . If you make the picture wider you can easily make out the switchbacks of the summer trail on the right hand side of the rocky pyramid in the center .

🇬🇧This larch tree in Val del Piz is the largest one of the whole Stura region. It’s circumference is 6 m and it’s estimated to be 300 years old . One can wonder how it managed to escape for so long the numerous avalanches in this area

🇬🇧Avalanche crossing into the way down …. knees and nerves tested to the limit

🇬🇧Arrival in Pietraporzio at 7 pm !! An Italian feast is expecting us at the hotel Regina delle Alpi .. We both fall asleep during dinner
Mais quelle aventure ! C’est digne d’une série haletante ⭐️⭐️⭐️
