🇬🇧This stage will get us from Maljasset (1900 m) to refuge de la Blanche (2500 m) following the upper Ubaye valley upstream for 12 km almost all the way to its spring and going through the col de la Noire

🇬🇧We are back at the Chapelle Maurin in Maljasset

🇬🇧After à glacial and windy departure we find the sun as we arrive at Plan Parouart just before the gorges de la Salcette

🇬🇧We were half expecting finding recent traces from skiers which would have reduced our effort but we are the first ones to go through the gorges since the last snowfall which will make for the additional pleasure and stress of finding our own way

🇬🇧Claire in great shape today will trace most of the way through fresh snow in the magnificent but very long Ubaye’s upper valley. This area receives about 10000 sheep every year . Landscapes give a very soothing impression of vastness and emptiness

🇬🇧We find fresh traces as we get very close to the Italian border and Ubaye’ river spring . They will help us to go across the col de la Noire

🇬🇧Arrival at the col de la Noire

🇬🇧Claire et the col de la Noire with Tête des Toilies in the background (3176 m) which was Pascal’s first 3000 ‘er when he was 14.

🇬🇧Excellent conditions finally on the way down from col de la Blanche

🇬🇧Arrival at the refuge de la Blanche
Les photos parlent d’elles même. Vous êtes bien de nouveau au paradis 😀😇.
